Aviation Maintenance is a technical career requiring professioal training in structural assembly and the repair of metal and composite structures to high technology systems and components utilization.

Powerplant Technician provides you with knowledge about both reciprocating and turbine engines. This prepares you to adjust, test, overhaul, repair and troubleshoot most of today's most complex aviation powerplants.

You learn these highly technical skills at the most modern training facility in America, located on the campus of West Los Angeles College.



Aviation careers keep the world flying.



Starting salaries for aviation Technicians is approximately $2,500 per month. This varies by region with added incentives for work in other countries, plus benefits.

Academic courses are also required for your Associate Degree. See a Counselor to complete an educational plan.

Tuition $12 per unit for California residents. Financial aid available.

All West Los Angeles College Aviation courses are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Upon successful completion of the course of study, you are qualified to apply for a US government license.

All courses are approved for veterans and are open to both men and women.



AVIATION PROGRAM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

All new and re-entering students must take the college English and Mathematics Assessment Exam.

Note: Lab classes require lab fees. Instructor will advise on the first day of class.
