Job Description

Primarily responsible for supervision of the Aircraft Maintenance Training (AMT) Program. Administer and ensure the development of the AMT students throughout their entire training period so as to become FAA certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanics and full time employees of ST Engineering (VT MAE)

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with Director of Maintenance (DOM) and VP of Operations on AMT recruitment goals.
2. Recruit AMT candidates from various sources; i.e. High Schools, Part 147 schools and the STA Mobile Website, etc.
3. Deliver recruiting presentations to various audiences, (High Schools, Community Groups, Job Fairs).
4. Develop tools to enhance recruitment; i.e. power point presentations, brochures and displays.
5. Assess, evaluate, interview and select AMT candidates for the AMT program.
6. Schedule AMT Students for Company Orientations.
7. Coordinate with DOM to ensure qualified and designated Mentors are assigned to the AMT Students.
8. Integrate the AMT Students into the workforce in coordination with the DOM.
9. Develop solid working relationships with Production Managers, Supervisors, Leads and Mentors to ensure AMT Students are progressing well throughout their student status.
10. Coordinate and interact with the Director of The Alabama Aviation Center for all student affairs regarding their progress.
11. Coordinate with Flight Training of Mobile for all FAA written testing needs for the AMT Students to include scheduling exams, receipt of exam results and funding.
12. Oversee the transition of AMT Students to APG Apprentice.

Qualifications

FAA Airframe Certificate preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred. One year teaching experience, either military or civilian. Supervisory experience highly valued. Instructional development experience preferred.
