Structures Supervisor is responsible to the Structures Manager for the overall operation of assigned crews and projects. Supervises teams of sheetmetal/structures in performing routine and non-routine heavy commercial aircraft maintenance and/or modifications in an MRO environment.


  • Supervise his/her subordinates in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
  • Monitor the status of each aircraft / project in service on a daily basis.
  • Prepare daily priority work sheets in concurrence with his/her Manager
  • Make available the necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives and any other required technical data.
  • Ascertain that all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible mechanic.
  • Maintain the premises of the Repair Station in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Be responsible for the proper handling of all parts while in repair process and the preservation of all units or parts while in repair process and the preservation of all units or parts during process through the shop and after work is completed.
  • Initiate requisitions for stock and materials as required.
  • Evaluate departmental operations recommending improvements in quality, productivity and employee relations. Implement programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality as maintained by ST Aerospace Mobile’s Quality Assurance program. Resolve departmental problems by identifying the problem, researching alternatives, analyzing the costs and benefits, implementing the best alternative and evaluating the end results.
  • Ability to communicate with internal groups (Planning, Materials, Fabrication, etc.) concerning aircraft issues.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, engineers and management concerning work related to aircraft sheetmetal and/or structural tasks.
  • Ability to provide task planning and scheduling to ensure required materials, parts and manpower are on hand to complete tasks.
  • Must be willing to work day shift, night shift, weekends and holidays as needed.


  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or 2 years of college/trade school or equivalent in training and/or experience preferred
  • Minimum of (60) months of commercial or military aircraft sheetmetal and structural experience.
  • A&P License preferred. Minimum of Airframe License or Repairmen’s Certificate
  • Must meet training prerequisites for previous grade
