Job Description:

This position is responsible for all manufacturing engineering related activities of the Commercial Operations function of the division. To be required to work for the performance of all Department functions- Manufacturing (Assembly & Testing/Part Machining/NDT/Surface Treatment – Plating/Painting), Procurement, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Warehousing, Aftermarket Repairs, Inspection, and Facilities.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

  • Establishes/maintains Manufacturing Instructions on products of Manufacturing
  • Develops manufacturing tools/equipment of Manufacturing, Aftermarket Repairs, and Inspection.
  • Reviews to resolve all manufacturing issues including procurement parts, and coordinates/collaborates with other groups to resolve issues.
  • Prepares Rework Instructions.
  • Reviews continuously all technical documents- drawings, specifications, and so on in order to keep up to date for Manufacturing Instructions.
  • As a part of AS9100 continuous improvement activities, reviews continuously to improve Manufacturing activities from productivity (costs reduction) and quality viewpoints, and takes necessary steps to achieve the improvement.
  • Recommends drawing change requests for productivity and quality viewpoints.
  • Develops plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions along with sufficient planning for areas that support the mission of the Corporation within Operations.
  • Presents monthly reports on performance as requested by the President.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.
  2. Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities. Tactful, mature
  3. Ability to establish credibility and be decisive- but able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
  4. Satisfactory communication skills, written and verbal.
  5. Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
  6. Training and experience with or leading lean initiatives is favorable.
  7. Experience using CAD or similar software programs is helpful.
  8. Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint is a must.
  9. Machine programming experience is helpful.

Education:

  1. BA or BS Degree
  2. Four (4) to five (5) years as Manufacturing Engineer, in aerospace manufacturing company(s).
