Duties / Responsibilities
Responsible for Facilities Engineering department. Includes identification of compliance issues associated with applicable building, electrical, fire, OSHA, etc. Design and review of design documents for new construction or major modification for facilities. Provision of engineering and technical support for the facilities supervisor. Development of scope of work documents in order to obtain quotations. Prepare capital justifications as required. Maintenance of AutoCAD documentation and preparation of basic layouts as required. Direction of outside contractors. Work closely with security, safety, environmental personnel. Obtain and analyze data, prepare capital justifications, support lean programs in efforts to remove costs from the business, and operate more effectively.
The duties include the following items:
• Provide technical support for facilities, gse, hazmat, security, safety, environmental, and industrial waste treatment plant operations
• Support the development of projects, from the initial brainstorming and scope development, through providing scope of work and other information to purchasing, definition of permits, etc, preparation of the justifications, overseeing construction.
• Manage and direct the preparation and maintenance of facilities documentation, including drawings, manuals, and warranty documents.
• Develop “what if” scenarios showing what aircraft types, equipment, etc. will fit into a given space as directed, or other solutions needed in the facilities areas
• Preparation, provide technical expertise, and review construction details and drawings
• Prioritize and direct, and coordinate new construction projects. Prepare schedules in compliance with operations and management needs. Verify that proper coordination has occurred. Develop and implement communications plans needed for these projects.
• Verify design compliance with all appropriate regulations, codes, and rules.
• Identify areas for potential cost savings – via schemes to increase productivity or reduce costs in the Facilities, GSE, and industrial waste/haz mat areas, and for the company at large
• Conduct annual inspections with all required government agencies. Responsible for preparation of compliance metrics.
• Utilize the BMR and GSR system in the management of projects. Support the preparation of necessary reports or analysis from same.
• Determine relevant data, collect, and analyze in various areas associated with facilities to improve performance and or control costs. Must be able to present findings in a concise, written document, for leadership review.
• Technical innovation utilizing software programs to facilitate data collection and analysis will be expected
• Superior communication skills are required. Must be able to elucidate root cause problems based on discussions with ATS mechanics or other employees, and to effectively communicate with others the findings and recommendations.

Four year technical degree preferred, minimum of a AA degree in a technical area, with additional relevant work experience. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in related areas.
