Qualifications

Must be able to perform a variety of non-routine tasks and demonstrate considerable knowledge of avionics and electrical equipment procedures, theories and concepts.

Must possess:

1. Ability to troubleshoot at the component level.

2. Considerable knowledge and use of electronic test equipment, hand and soldering tools, voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices.

3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics and technical orders.

4. The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

5. Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and assess situations and make judgments.

6. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential.

7. The ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Extensive travel required.

Duties / Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for testing, repairing, modifying and operating unmanned aerial vehicles, ground control stations, and ground support equipment in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, technical orders and procedures and military regulations.



1. Operates UAV, ground control stations and ground support equipment at assigned location.



2. Performs routine inspections on system and equipment.



3. Troubleshoots, tests and documents findings. Repairs or replaces components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.



4. Fabricates, upgrades, routes and installs wiring harnesses.



5. Represents group with team leaders, supply personnel, A&P mechanics, pilots and internal and external customers.



6. May provide guidance or training to less experienced staff.




Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Education

Typically requires education/formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency as well as five or more years experience in aviation or electronics. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
