Summary
The Maintenance Instructor is responsible for the audit and oversight of the airlines Maintenance Instructional Plan, as well as oversight of maintenance training activity and developing training subject matter and curriculum for the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications
*A&P license required.
*5-7 years of experience required.
*Experience in the aircraft maintenance training industry preferred.
*Must be computer-savvy and have proficiency in Excel and Access, as well as fluency with the rest of the MS Office Suite.
*Must have experience with aviation maintenance software programs.
*Individuals in this capacity must be able to instruct others, imparting knowledge and abilities to develop others within their scope of supervision.
*An individual working in a supervisory or professional position must be able to engage individuals using multiple learning styles in order to transmit information and develop those whom they are supervising.
*Strong working knowledge of one's field or discipline in which one finds oneself engaged on a daily basis. Becoming fully aware and informed of current trends, developments, and changes in the sub-industry is critical for this.
*Strong communication skills: must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
*Must possess a strong ability to manage one's own time, as well as others' time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is, in fact accomplished. Hand-in-hand with this ability is the ability to prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
*An individual in this capacity must have strong leadership skills, ensuring that he or she uses appropriate methods of leadership, influence, and persuasion, to guide, manage, and develop those within their scope of supervision.
*Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
*Must have a strong command of reasoned, measured decision-making based upon analyzing the pros and cons of each potential decision to be made.
*Working knowledge of standard and advanced business principles and procedures; moreover, the ability to incorporate them into one's business unit or division to achieve measurable, sustainable results.
*Must have the ability to take initiative on a given task or project and persist with the project to its completion.
*When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.
Duties / Responsibilities
*Instructing personnel to improve their technical performance and proficiency.
*Development of a Computer Based Training system for the maintenance department.
*Instructing personnel to ensure compliance with NAA policies and procedures.
*Development of the training subject and curriculum in accordance with airline policy.
*Maintaining the training database in order to provide support of Maintenance department personnel.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.
