Summary

The Aircraft Configuration Analyst is responsible for building and maintaining aircraft configuration models, and reviewing all technical documents to authorize usage of components within Ultramain.

Qualifications

*An A&P License is required and FCC License is recommended for this job.
*Must have a working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
*Must be able to excel under pressure.
*The ability to work with computers is invaluable to this position.
*A strong understanding of systems thinking (i.e., both realizing that one piece of an organization has an impact on other components of the organization. Furthermore, navigating that impact successfully).
*Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
*The ability to use careful, measured judgment and decision-making: weighing the costs and benefits of a potential action; using discretion.
*Critical thinking abilities: using logic and analysis to determine strengths and weaknesses of a variety of solutions.
*Strong working knowledge of one's field or discipline in which one finds oneself engaged on a daily basis. Becoming fully aware and informed of current trends, developments, and changes in the sub-industry is critical for this.
*Must possess a strong ability to manage one's own time, as well as others' time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is, in fact accomplished. Hand-in-hand with this ability is the ability to prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
*When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject-matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.

Duties / Responsibilities

*Providing technical support to Technical Records personnel to maintain real-time aircraft configurations.
*Developing and implementing various aircraft configuration models based on fleet effectivity.
*Maintaining awareness of FAA regulations and required compliance of FARs, ADs, SBs and North American Airlines maintenance program.
*Monitoring New-Item Action Desk in Ultramain to define components, build interchangeability and effectivity.
*Assisting Materials Department with parts and components research in order to determine proper effectiveness.
*Interfacing with Materials and Planning departments to configure the aircraft for time controlled and leased components.
*Interfacing with Maintenance, Materials, QA, Flight Operations, Inflight and Marketing Departments in order to provide solutions to a variety of technical issues on the fleet.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

Education

Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent with engineering as an area of study) and three to five years of experience are required.
