Summary

The Maintenance Controller is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance materials and logistics at North American Airlines are accounted for to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) plus three to five years relevant experience.
*FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate for 3 years.
*Must have completed both 757 and 767 general familiarization training (minimum 40-hour courses each).
*Strong working knowledge of one's field or discipline, particularly aviation and aviation engineering, in which one finds oneself engaged on a daily basis. Becoming fully aware and informed of current trends, developments, and changes in the sub-industry is critical for this.
*Strong communication skills: must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
*Must possess a strong ability to manage one's own time, as well as others' time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is, in fact accomplished. Hand-in-hand with this ability is the ability to prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and essential functions.
*Individuals in this capacity must be able to instruct others, imparting knowledge and abilities to develop others within their scope of supervision.
*An individual working in a supervisory or professional position must be able to engage individuals using multiple learning styles in order to transmit information and develop those who they are supervising.
*Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
*Must have the ability to take initiative on a given task or project and persist with the project to its completion.
*When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject-matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.
*Critical thinking abilities: using logic and analysis to determine strengths and weaknesses of a variety of solutions.

Duties / Responsibilities

*Issuing control item numbers to defer maintenance items in accordance with NAA GMM Section 33.
*Monitoring control items and providing troubleshooting, parts ordering and compliance with the MEL/DDG per NAA GMM SEC 3 in accordance with company policy.
*Ensuring proper procedures and approvals for verification and functional check flights are followed in accordance with NAA GEN MAINTENANCE MANUAL CHAPTER 9.
*Coordinating with the Manager of Maintenance Control, Manager of Maintenance and Director of Maintenance for any manpower, tooling and/or support equipment required for repairing aircraft.
*Ensuring delays are accounted for and the mechanical irregularity/delay report is generated in accordance with company policy.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.
