Aircraft Design Engineer (CATIA V5)
We are an aircraft modification, repair, and engineering facility located just north of San Diego, east of Los Angeles, at the French Valley airport (F70) in Murrieta/Temecula California. Our facilities, located on 7 acres, include 50,000 square feet of enclosed hangar, shop, office, and ramp space.
The Company is an FAA Certified Repair Station (#JRPR350F) and is authorized to perform:
- Aircraft heavy “depot level” maintenance.
- Unlimited Class 3 aircraft repair and alteration.
- Specific Class 4 aircraft repair and alteration.
- Engine and propeller removal/reinstallation.
- We also provides custom design, fabrication, assembly, and installation of complex aerodynamic structures for numerous commercial and governmental entities.
Seeking a CATIA V5 Design Engineer Experience with large (Part 25) and small (Part 23) airplane structure.
Experience with airplane structure such as fuselage, wings, bulkheads, tail, floor, and interior cabinetry. Good basic understanding of aircraft design principles and practices.
Experience with typical aircraft metals (MMPDS), hardware (MS, NAS, AN, bolts, rivets, screws, nuts, bushings, etc.), steels, fiberglass, honeycomb panels, machined parts, formed sheet metal, welds, and sealant.
Experience with design/analysis of installations and modifications effecting pressurized and non-pressurized fuselage skin penetrations, frames, stringers, floor beams, floor panels, seat track attachments, bulkheads, skin, doubler, shear clips, intercostals, hydraulic and electrical cable routing.
Considers and understands manufacturing and installation limitations for a design and the existing structure, access, and the aircraft structures load carrying function and capability.
Experience with aircraft repairs of local small areas, damage, mis-drilled holes, corrosion.
Experience with working aircraft mechanics and being a liaison engineer. Good MS Windows, MS Office, PowerPoint, computer skills and organization.
Is diligent and strives to get project completed with a proactive approach and sense of ownership and responsibility. Takes an active role to get information, ask questions and follow through to finalize project.
Works well with others, listens and takes instructions, accepts criticism as constructive, and is respectful and adapts to the company approach and methods of design and analysis Due to the type of work performed in our facility applicants must be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
